ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

 

WORCESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

 

NOTICE OF THE CLOSURE OF U42215 MIDDLE LANE, HADZOR, WORCESTERSHIRE (“THE HIGHWAY”)

 

Reason for restriction: Burst water main.  There is a likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road.  There is a need to close the highway in the following terms:-

 

  1. The effect of this Notice is that no vehicle shall proceed along that part of the highway from its junction with U42216 Hadzor Lane for a distance of 75 metres in an easterly direction.

 

  1. This provision shall continue in force for a maximum of 21 days, however, it is anticipated that it will remain in force for 3 days (24hrs) commencing 2 March 2026.

 

  1. Alternative routes: – U42215 Middle Lane (part), C2076 Tagwell Road, C2076 Newland Road to Plough Lane, U42212 Skergens Lane, C2077 Trench Lane,
    C2156 Captains Lane, U42215 Middle Lane (part) and vice versa.

 

Nothing in this Notice shall prevent at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the highway, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from and only from the highway.

Proposed Order: to close that part of C2077 Trench Ln from its junction with C2156 Captains Ln for a distance of 30 metres in a Southerly direction.

Reason: Utility work by STW

Exemptions: to permit access to any land or premises fronting the highway affected where there is no other form of access; and to allow the works to be undertaken.

Alternative route: C2156 Captains Ln, U42215 Middle Ln, C2076 Tagwell Rd, C2076 Newland Rd to Plough Ln, U42212 Skergens Ln, C2077 Trench Ln (part) and vice versa.

Proposed Order: to close that part of C2032 Harrow Ln from its junction with U42204 Church Ln to its junction with C2118 Himbleton to Grafton Flyford.

Reason: Bridgework maintenance by WCC

Exemptions: to permit access to any land or premises fronting the highway affected where there is no other form of access; and to allow the works to be undertaken.

No access for emergency services, the diversion route must be maintained.

Alternative route: C2032 Harrow Ln (part), C2032 Shaftland Cross to Phepson, C2077 Shaftland Cross to Grafton Flyford, C2118 Grafton Flyford to Himbleton, C2118 Himbleton to Grafton Flyford and vice versa.

The Panel is part of the governance arrangements for policing in the West Mercia area and its role is to maintain a regular check and balance on the performance of the directly-elected West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner.

The Panel covers the geographical areas of Herefordshire, Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, and Worcestershire with support for the Panel provided by Worcestershire County Council.

that a casual vacancy has arisen in the Office of Councillor for the Parish Council (Himbleton ward).

If by 15 May, 2025 (14 days excluding Dies Non, after the date of this notice) a request for an election to fill said vacancy is made in writing to the Returning Officer at the address below by TEN electors for the said Parish, an election will be held to fill the said vacancy, otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option.

Worcestershire County Council elections – 1st May 2025

  • The Worcestershire County Council elections are going ahead and will take place on 1st May this year. The Count will be done the following day at 10am at Pershore Leisure Centre (and obviously other locations around Worcs for the other Districts).
  • We have 12 County divisions in Wychavon – there has been a boundary review since the last election in 2021 but the changes for our divisions are relatively minor. For more information – and to see an excellent interactive map – please see the LGBCE’s website here: Worcestershire | LGBCE
  • Each division elects one candidate each on a first-past-the-post system – we’ll know the candidates standing after 4pm on Wednesday 2nd April
